Open Source Software / Proof of Concept

Open Source Software

Parts of our R&D outputs are published as open source software to encourage the deployment of the technologies and acquire feedbacks from real users to make our software better and better.

Proof of Concept

We operate some of our latest technologies in a real network to advertise our achievements and show the usefulness of the developed technologies.

IHR: Internet Health Report

The Internet Health Report helps network operators to monitor network conditions. Network performance data is collected with RIPE Atlas and BGPstream, and analyzed with a set of tools pinpointing delay changes, forwarding anomalies, network disconnections and routing changes.

Validation of the latest protocols

At IIJ Research Laboratories, we implement protocols standardized by the IETF and verify the correctness of the protocols through inter-operability tests.

Library OS based Internet services

We are working on the Library OS, which is a new service enabler that provides operating system functions as library calls. The technology is highly independent from the base system, boots up quicker, and is expandable. Currently, we are operating some of the network services for the Research Laboratory (domain name server, etc.) on the Library OS and evaluating and verifying their feasibility.
