Organization

The Advanced Technology Coordination Office is an organization aimed at functioning as a hub for IIJ Group companies and IIJ to realize various forms of collaboration.

In addition to the research and technology IIJ own, we also collect information about overseas trends constantly through investigation of overseas technology startup companies. We don't simply collect those information, we also work on collaboration with those startups to encourage the creation of new ideas and themes.

The Research Group is engaging practical research through open collaboration with other research institutions so as to contribute to the Internet and the society as a whole.

Research is a process to add and share new insights on top of the existing knowledge accumulated by predecessors.
In the Internet world, new interesting technologies are invented one after another, but just making would not constitute research. It is necessary to position an idea in the research landscape, compose an output, and the results should be evaluated.

We encourage self-motivated research and open collaboration that would take initiative to lead the research area.

Our research areas include monitoring and analyzing complex network behaviors, and systems research for enhancing and automating network design, management and operations.

The purpose of development group is implement cutting-edge software for IIJ and the future of internet with advanced approaches.

In particular, we develop:

• - proof-of-concept software to verify the new concepts invented by research group
• - new protocols for testing their inter-operability to contribute the standardization in IETF
• - new platforms to accelerate innovations both in IIJ

The purpose of the R&D Planning Group is implementing the future internet based on research planning and survey the related technologies.

We promote the research topics ride on the strength of our technologies, and support to create the new research topics. We also cooperate and collaborate with universities, research laboratories, and other companies to accelerate the research and development and expand to various fields. We promote the standardization to deploy the new technologies.
